Creative Arts & Parties for Kids

Lisa Kaufman-Cohen founded Dance-on-Wheels/ Creative Arts for Kids in 1986 with the dream of bringing arts programming to children in an accesible and affordable manner-at the children's schools. She watched her dream grow in the Los Angeles Area from 3-45 schools. Now in Orange County Creative Arts & Parties for Kids brings arts programs to approximately 15 local public and private schools as well as community centers and organizations. Lisa has a BA in Theatre & Dance Education and has completed her course work for her Masters in Educational Administration. She is currently working on her thesis of which the subject is integrating the arts into the general education curriculum. Lisa has taught children for over twenty years and was featured in the Orange County Register as a special dance instructor for children. She has taught workshops for teachers through the Imagination Celebration/Orange County Department of Education, is on the staff of Pacific School of Music and the Arts as drama instructor and curriculum coordinator and enjoys coodinating and performing with children.Most of all she loves children and loves to see them play!

Typical Birthday Party Format

 

We arrive 15 minutes prior to performance time to arrange costumes, supplies and props. Children will be immediately engaged in activities appropriate to the theme of the party.

 

  • Children decorate a birthday card that has been especially pre-decorated with your child's name and greeting written in glitter.

  • Children dress up in costumes related to the theme of your choice. Everyone gets a costume. Even mom and dad if you choose!

  • Your character will lead the children through games, movement and drama play. Each party is designed around specific storyline and is designed around your childs age level.

  • After the games we stage a special birthday picture with all the guests, the birthday child and family (if requested).

  • Storytime and performance will lead into the presentation of the birthday cake and songs.

  • Happy Birthday Song and Cake Service - We sing, serve cake to children and adult guests and tell stories at table.

 

Each party is customized to the occasion or to your child's special interests!
